This is one of those times when I don't mind being wrong.
This will be music to the ears of my vexed friend.
I would say that a PS3 price drop might make me reconsider my decision not to buy an HD console, but my LCD doesn't have an HDMI port and buying an HDTV is not an option.

Good luck to SONY on this.May it keep Microsoft and Nintendo on their toes.

Sony will always end up on top no matter what anybody says. They know their game and they're Japanese. What better combination?

I wonder how much the slim PS3 would cost?

I think that it is more a matter of "Will PS3 Slim differ from the original version in any way other than size?" and how much they will be flogging those PS3 still in the distribution channels for.

It's not about what people are saying - it's about what's happening. I can't help but smile at your post as Sony's sales figures put them in dead last in the next-gen race. The Wii and 360 are continually selling more hardware units week-on-week, so Sony are falling behind even more.

I used to be a huge Playstation fan and scoffed at the thought of the gaming behemoth being put to sleep, but I guess all good things must come to an end and Sony, quite sadly, underestimated their competition big time this time around.

So because they stuffed up once, out of so many scenarios, they're now losers. I doubt it. And true, they have an ego and it was beat up bad this round, but wait for the next round. They'll come out on top again.

Im a Sony fan, always have been, we've only ever had Sony tv's and Lcd's and that won't ever change, but as far as the Ps3 goes...Its brilliant, what a piece of tech..they don't need to make a slim ver of it.

maybe the slim version will have drastic price cuts...which should benefit the consumer in the end. Like me...

Ps2 slim cost more than the original Ps2...I don't see how they can cut costs by bringing out a Slim ver of the Ps3 and sell it for less.

I agree with Joker. Shrinking the Playstation 3 will take something away from its imposing appearance.
