If thats reference to Tinman and I then you're mistaken. The stuff we've mentioned is far from EMO. Explosions in the Sky - post-rock, Circa Surivive - progressive/indie, Sounds of Animal Fighting - Exp. Rock Post Hardcore. Only band thats EMOish that I mentioned so far is Saosin. Does anyone use last.fm (http://www.last.fm)?

If you like music you'll love Last.fm. It basically runs in the background on your PC and records the music you listen to and uploads it to your online profile. It then calculates your listening trends and suggests new bands to you. It works very well.

The Decemberists are an indie rock band from Portland, Oregon, United States.
The band's songs range from upbeat pop to instrumentally lush ballads, and often employ instruments like the accordion, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer organ, and upright bass. In its lyrics, the band eschews the angst and introspection common to modern rock, instead favoring a storytelling approach

I've never understood why people bother to mock other peoples' music taste, as well...it's their taste and there's nothing you can do about it.

I, for example, think what you're listening to is ghastly, but what's the use it rubbishing you for it?

Everyone knows that mocking it won't do anything about them changing it but we do it anyway, I know mine has been mocked before.

Also, Dillinger ain't really one of my all time favourites I listen to a select few of their songs, Milk Lizard has a sort of melody and catchy hook to it.

LOL Rap isn't a style of singing or music.
Its a global culture..that represents what they stand for by speaking lyrics and not singing them.

Hip-hop music (also referred to as rap or rap music) is a style of popular music. It is made up of two main components: rapping (MCing) and DJing (audio mixing and scratching). Along with break dancing and graffiti (tagging), these compose the four elements of hip-hop, a cultural movement that was initiated by inner-city youth, mostly African Americans in New York City, in the early 1970s.

Typically, hip hop music consists of one or more rappers who tell semi-autobiographic tales, often relating to a fictionalized counterpart, in an intensely rhythmic lyrical form making abundant use of techniques like assonance, alliteration, and rhyme. The rapper is accompanied by an instrumental track, usually referred to as a "beat", performed by a DJ, created by a producer, or one or more instrumentalists. This beat is often created using a sample of the percussion break of another song, usually a funk, rock, or soul recording. In addition to the beat other sounds are often sampled, synthesized, or performed. Sometimes a track can be instrumental, as a showcase of the skills of the DJ or producer.

Hip-hop began in New York City when DJs began isolating the percussion break from funk and disco songs. The early role of the MC was to introduce the DJ and the music and to keep the audience excited. MCs began by speaking between songs, giving exhortations to dance, greetings to audience members, jokes and anecdotes. Eventually this practice became more stylized and became known as rapping. By 1979 hip-hop had become a commercially popular music genre and began to enter the American mainstream. In the 1990s, a form of hip hop called gangsta rap became a major part of American music, causing significant controversy over lyrics which were perceived as promoting violence, promiscuity, drug use and misogyny.

Nevertheless, by the beginning of the 2000s, hip-hop was a staple of popular music charts and was being performed in many styles across the world. This may involve removing the words and replacing them with Indian ones, mixing the original track's chorus and replacing it with local words. Sometimes the tracks are mixed so much that it is hard to tell if it is the original or not.

Although hip-hop music originated in the United States, it has spread throughout the world. Hip-hop was almost entirely unknown outside of the United States prior to the 1980s. During that decade, it began its spread to every inhabited continent and became a part of the music scene in dozens of countries. The spread of the music was intertwined with that of hip hop culture - as elements such as break dancing gained popularity, so did rappers and hip hop groups.

Thought gamers attract some pretty interesting styles of music. List yours here. I'll give a few, you can check out Youtube for some demos. I'm mainly gunna list things which are perfect for gamers :P

Eluveitie -- Perhaps the most amazing band I've heard. They combine Celtic Metal with Black Metal, it sounds amazing though. My name came from their song and I sleep with their CD between my legs.

Ensiferum -- Also awesome, they take Power Metal, get rid of the cheesy lyrics and put in Black Metal elements. Check out One More Magic Potion our Lei Lei

Battlelore -- Perfect for gamers. Their songs are based off of Lord of the Rings. SOunds terrible, I know, but it actually comes out really well. Check out Sword Songs, Starlight Kingdom, Forked Height or War of Wrath, all very good.

For the Greater Good of God by Iron Maiden. It's just...epic.

Alestorm -- Pirate Metal. It's got cheesy lyrics but I don't know what it is about "With the power of ale he could not fail!" that is so damn appealing. They put out an awesome sound and some funny ass lyrics, including their song Wenches and Mead, which, to briefly surmise:
"When I get back from a mighty quest
I have no need for sleep or rest
I head to a tavern for a drink
And get so drunk I cannot think
A wench by my side and a jug of mead,
These are the things that I most need,
So I sit back and sing this song
And drink and party all night long"

Amon Amarth -- Pretty amazing band, though not everyone would like them. If you like bad ass guitar riffs with battle-themed Black Metal vocals, Amon Amarth is perfect. Check out Twilight of the Thundergod

Finntroll -- Finnish Black Metal. This is darker than Amon Amarth but in a way funny. All their vocals are in Finnish but some of it is great, especially Trollhammaren. Sorta darkly humored as well.

Kamelot -- a lighter form of Metal and perhaps one of the only good American Metal bands. They sing some awesome songs but don't use any guttural vocals. Check them out if you're less of a metal fan.

Swallow the Sun -- Amongst my favorites. Check out The Justice of Suffering.

Insomnium -- Another favorite. Finnish Black Metal with a more Doom Metal influence. Daughter of the Moon is the best song ever made, anyone would like it.

This is mainly to share. I love getting other people's music and checking it out and sharing my own. I'm sure Miphesto can hook me up with some Satanic Metal :P
Nah but seriously, I look at this as a more in-depth and discussion oriented "What are you listening to?"
