I've been bored for some weeks now due to lack of a good game. I really feel like an RPG. Nothing kills time better than that. Has anyone got any ideas? To be honest, I haven't been lucky with recent RPGs.
Neverwinter Nights 2 was awesome, but I'm not too keen to replay it. Oblivion was good, but not enough story. Fallout 3 I could play, but I've only got the 360 version, and I'm looking for a PC RPG. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you played Sacred 2?
Have you tried any of the Dungeon Siege games? You might also try looking for second-hand copies of Arcanum, Divine Divinity, Planetscape:Torment, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Revenant, Nox,Titan Quest,Legend:Hand of god, Darkstone,Spellforce 1 and 2, Sacred, or the original Fallout games.A friend of mine bought himself the Fallout 1,2 and Tactics collection recently.
Last year I bought myself The Forgotten Realms Deluxe Collection box which comprises 5 games and their expansions. [Neberwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2,Throne of Darkness,Greyhawk:Temple of Elemental Evil Icewind Dale 1 and 2] Well worth it!
I take it that you have played Diablo 1 and 2 to death?

Phoenix gave some valuable tips ... but if you want an AWESOME light hearted RPG ... try Fable1 ... I absolutely LOVED it!
Dungeon siege2 is also very nice, but fable will keep you captivated like no other.

I second the Baldur's Gate II suggestion. Also the Gothic Series, Gothic 2 and 3 in particular.

Played Dungeon Siege and quite a few of the other ones you listed. Baldur's Gate, surprisingly enough, is one I haven't played. That sounds like a good idea.
Yeah, Diablo 1 and 2 I've killed. I love the old Final Fantasy games -- not the new ones, since X-2 the series has gone downhill, but I've played FF7, 8 and 9 so many times now, I've practically unlocked every secret and got the ultimate weapons for every character, except for FF9.
Either way, Fable is an awesome game, played that a few times too.
But Baldur's Gate, I'm gunna look for that. Thanks.

I take it you would rather play a newer game than the ones mentioned? If so then have a look at these two:
Mass Effect
The Witcher Enhanced Edition

Personally, and graphically it is a little outdated now unfortunately, but my ALL TIME favourite RPG EVER is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (and 1 straight after).
It's set 5000yrs before the galactic empire so no luke skywalker or Darth Vader or somesuch. You spend about half the game acquiring enough skills/materials/crystals to build yourself a lightsaber...once you have one it feels like quite an accomplishment. I played that game for 32hrs straight at one occasion. It was THAT good.

Mass Effect is good, but compared to KotoR it's quite a short game and I didn't feel the characters were as well developed. Fun to play though.

Oblivion was really fun, but the thing with that is once you're bored with Oblivion, you're just totally out of it. That's what I had at least.

It's exactly the same for me, it just took 90+ hours to get there.

I agree on oblivion... Once played and stopped' then you cant start again... Only fun for like 1 hour and then bored all over again! lol... But otherwise it was a awesome game!
I will recommend Gothic 2; awesome game!! Much better than 3 though.
Also try Dungeon Lords - Its really addictive!

The problem with Oblivion is this: It's success was it's direct failure.
The game was AMAZING! But it was too much too soon! Look at conventional RPG's - they limit you to a certain area either by means of access or levels of mobs. In WoW you can cross an entire continent without a single map load, but you are limited to the level of the monsters in the area and you soon realize where you don't belong.
In Oblivion you go off exploring from the get-go and soon find yourself stealing someone's horse and galloping off into the horizon forgetting completely what the game was about.
The realism also spoilt it a bit in the sense of fighting sequences and character flexibility. I enjoy a realistic feel, but don't let me run out of arrows when I'm a ranged attacker with no money. Come on!
Anyway, I should still give oblivion another go since I last tried to play it on a diesel powered pc. Perhaps then my view will differ.
As for awesome RPGs ... Fable/KOTOR/dungeon Sige/buldur's gate/titan quest ... and hopefully soon Rise of the Argonauts.

Ah Freelancer, now that brings back memories. It was a great game, just lacked substance outside of the main story arc. That's what X3-Reunion is for though!

Ja the game was a little heavy and not easy on beginners, but they released a new PDF manual that really helped you acclimate yourself with the games mechanics and once you get over the initial hump the game becomes real rewarding.
