I made a post some time ago saying they are developing graphics engines to make games on all three platforms at once, and some one mentioned that I am misinformed so I am making this post to make clear that I was correctly informed. :D
"What is even more interesting is CryEngine 3 will support 3D. Perhaps what is most notable are some of the new features, such as the LiveCreate system, which allows developers the ability to create a game on all three platforms of PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the same time."

You still don't understand how it works. For one thing, this is a FEATURE specific to CryEngine 3. Moreover, it's really not as simple as you think it is. I can absolutely assure you - as someone who has worked in game development, and has friends working in game development - that there's no such thing as complete unified code for all three platforms. Whatever this LiveCreate feature is, it's not a magic COMPILE FOR EVERYTHING button.

You are so right ..
I dont think they understand the work involved in coding
Sgt for the record you are wrong again sadly , althou there will be ports there is no unified code for all three platforms
CryEngine 3 will not be for this gen hardware .

The award-winning engine developer will show the powerful new “CryENGINE® LiveCreate™” system. CryENGINE® LiveCreate™ adds real-time multi-platform editing of game content to Crytek’s original What You See Is What You Play CryENGINE®3 Sandbox™ editor, allowing genuine, synchronized cross platform game development for the first time.
“CryENGINE® LiveCreate™ allows developers to work with a single editor, but see and play the results in real-time on PC, PS3 and Xbox360, hooked up to a single dev PC. The engine takes care of the conversion and optimization of assets in real-time; enables instant, cross-platform changes to any part of game creation and as a result materially increases the speed and significantly reduces the risk of multiplatform development. Multiple teams are no longer necessary for simultaneous cross platform development – all you need now is much larger desks!” said Carl Jones, Director of Business Development for CryENGINE.
First publicly previewed at the last Game Developers’ Conference in San Francisco, where it was without doubt one of the standouts of the show, CryENGINE®3 has already been licensed to a number of major companies around the globe.
Crytek's Engine Licensing Team will be available during the show for meetings to discuss licensing details with prospective clients. In addition, Crytek will be hosting a series of public presentations of LiveCreate™, CryENGINE®3 Console and the CryENGINE® 3 Sandbox™ Editor at their booth #131.

Double post. It's for the good of mankind though. :)

When I think about it, both of you are correct in a way. I'll explain how it works. CryEngine 3 has different graphics engines for the different consoles. But it now has a single development platform. Everything is interlinked so that information can be sent from one graphics engine to the next, all in real time. It's quite a feat.
So when looking at your posts. Sgt is correct in that he says they are developing graphics engines to make games on all three platforms at once. That's exactly what they've done. He doesn't say one graphic engine, rather graphic engines.
Azimuth is correct in that it's a feature of the CryEngine 3. Theoretically it would be possible to make a COMPILE FOR EVERYTHING button though. It would take a hell of a lot of work and wouldn't be worthwhile. Not when you can just use middleware to interlink the different graphics engines, using a single game engine tool: CryEngine 3.
You are so right ..

I don't know what you are going on about though. Both posters before you are correct and CryEngine 3 is for this gen hardware and will probably support next gen hardware too.

Ja I am not even going to go into any debates, just made the post to say I was right and whoever said I was misinformed was wrong. I am aware that the coding is different, but maybe this will help so that developers will not be so quick to just say, "no PC to much work lets just drop it."

Unreal engine can already do all of these even the 3D part. Although non licensees is limited to developing for the PC only.
In UT3 you had cooking tools that allowed you to choose to publish your Map/Character on PC or PS3.
