LAN @ Plassie's April

Ok so I am having the Lan the first weekend of April.

COD4 ONLY! NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING ELSE.

I am trying to balance it out, ideally I want an 8 player Lan so we can have 4vs 4, as we are only going to have one or 2 free for all maps.

We are playing a mod, I am using the ACE mod. ALL that I changed from the normal COD4 gameplay is:

Hardcore Instant spawn, no 10 second delay.
Announcer sounds (taken from UT) like First Blood etc.
No voting whatsoever.

We are going to be playing alot of custom maps in addition to the stock ones. I have about 70 in total, but I filtered out all the good ones so we are left with about 20 Custom maps including 2 of my own:D

What we will do is play one or 2 Free for all maps and then split the teams according to scores, so it's nice and balanced out.

I am also running a little SQL lite program that records all the stats from all the players. Total kills, deaths, points, suicides, accuracy etc etc.


WHat I am trying to do is not like your average LAN, I am really trying like a mini competitive session of sorts.

Since I got my lan buddies to play TDM COD4 and Domination its about all they want to do, so I was thinking if we pitch in 3 or 4 other really good players we might end up with something that's gonna work well!

I seat 10 comfortably, and 12 max in my small livingroom, but sleeping is an issue for the guys that sleep over cause there is only one double bed and 2 big couches unless they bring matresses and shit

WEll most of the ppl usually rock up on the saterday only so sleeping aint an issue cause on saterdays we usually go all the way through.

Its only fridays that we sleep basically.

I'm running a dedicated server with COD4, and I got all the maps/patches and the mod we need.

I got enough cables and a big switch, so you dont need to bring anything apart from Dop, more dop, smokes and your pc stuff. maybe a chair. maybe a small table lol, I got 7 chairs, and tables for 5 peeps. I will organize another table so Ican have enough for 7 peeps

OK to those who are attending my lan, it's gonna work like this.

COD4 ONLY, TEAM BASED ONLY. Running a dedicated server, using the ACE mod, and running alot of quality custom maps.

Mod changes.

Hardcore mode only, radar activated for Domination and S&D.
INstant spawn, no hardcore spawn delay
Spawn protection, wich means you can't get spawnfragged.
Announcer sounds from UT, like Headshot, firstblood etc.
You need to create a new profile, because I unlocked all weapons and perks, so nobody is left with inferior weapons :)

We are going to play 2 FFA maps, to see who places where then divide the teams accordingly, to balance it out nicelly.
Gonna play 5 Maps TDM, 5 Maps Domination, 5 Maps S&D, 5 Maps CTF etc etc.....

Good morning folks... Fu#$king bee stung me on Friday afternoon, took my pilletjies, was fine from there but started to get a flippen EPIC headache on Saturday. I ended up going to hospital yesterday afternoon to get a injection. Doctor said that I was lucky not to die! :eek:
