Most Violent Games Ever Made (http://www.ggmania.com/?smsid=26780)
PC World has published an interesting article covering what they consider to be the most violent video games of all time (http://www.pcworld.com/article/161180/the_most_violent_video_games_ever_made.html). Take a look to see what they list as their number one.

By Friday the 13th this past week, two of the goriest games to date arrived on store shelves: MadWorld and Resident Evil 5. An omen? No, it's a bloody obvious sign that some video games are made for adults. There's a reason why the game industry has a self-regulated ratings system. Would you strap in your tween to watch Saw? Maybe traumatize a toddler by reading it to sleep with Stephen King’s "It?" Exactly. So don't go buying an "M-rated" game for the kids.

Well, that got us thinking back to the violent video games (and one that barely even spilled a drop) that have stirred up all sorts of controversy in the past. So, for your reading (dis)pleasure, we've assembled a murderer's row of the 15 bloodiest games ever created. For the most part, this reads like a list of must-play games--if you have the stomach for them.

(To be honest, it was really difficult to narrow it down to the few titles here. Many games drip with...stuff...but we only had enough room and enough time to focus on some of the bigger ones. Hit the comment box below and share some other twisted gaming moments we may have missed.)

I agree, gaming is our escape from reality...We can't go out and hit people in the head with a hammer and get away with it(well maybe in Sa you can).
Games let us live out our sickest voilent nightmares(in my case dreams) without actually hurting anyone.

I would add "The Suffering", "God of War" and "The Punisher" the MyGaming Violent Game list.

The Punisher had well orchestrated violence in it. I.e. making use of terrain to kill enemies i.e. cooking stoves, drill presses etc. It was pretty grim - but not over the top frequent.

Nah you are right, it wasn't THAT violent, but very visceral. Have you seen the GoW3 screens? I'm seriously thinking this is going to be THE most violent game ever!

Here's some info to wet the pallet :).

From Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/god-of-war-iii-preview?page=1) Preview:

If you look at the way Kratos obliterates enemies now, he stabs a guy and it creates a gash in the skin and when you're ripping a Cyclops' eye out, it has tendons trailing behind it," says Puhl, illustratively. "When you slice open a Centaur, its body actually opens up and the guts will spill out. These levels of detail help make the combat experience more realistic.

From IGN (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/954/954097p1.html)

The lone weakness came with the arrival of a Cyclops, which Papy mounted and used to smash the shields and send the skeletons flying. Of course, the Cyclops could only take so much damage, and after the skeletons were eliminated, Papy hit the button prompt, and Kratos plunged his hands into the Cyclops' eye socket. Palming the beast's eyeball, he promptly ripped it clean out, with the connective tissue and nerve still attached. But the brutality wasn't done there. Kratos quickly walked over to Helios, and grabbed the god's head, squeezing and pulling with all of his strength as Helios screamed and fought back as best as he could in his weakened condition. In the end, Kratos was too powerful, and the Ghost of Sparta ripped his head from his shoulders.

Hey Joker, with statements like that... no wonder people are blaming gaming for all the kids high school shootings and shit.
People are reading it and not understanding what you are saying and will take it out of context, i.e. "This dude at a forum on the interwebz said he likes shooting people and watching them die and he is numb to blood and violence".

So just be careful, you are a little scary the way you are going on. :D
(I think it is just big talk anyway and that when you are really caught in a violent / bloody, gory / heads being cut off situation, legs twitching, you will probably hurl your guts out and cry like a baby... for real)

Not the 1st one but manhunt 2 was very controversial and banned in some places
