Do you have a messy desktop full of icons and shortcuts and are looking for a way to organize them? Take a look at a solution from Stardock called Fences, which organizes your icons into groups for a more efficient desktop.

After a quick installation you are presented with options for setting up your fences. Choose an existing layout to get started or create your own right away. If you go with a custom layout and don’t like it no worries as it is very easy to customize.

For years I've been wanting something like this. I am so very, very keen :D It's free and looks easy to use. *downloads*

I downloaded StarDock and only have the essential icons in the dock at the top of my screen. It looks really snazzy and neat in Windows 7.

I keep being keen to play with windows Shells. I wonder if anyone else has played with them?

No not shells, but Windows 7 I've used quite a bit.

If I ever had icons on my desktop fences would be a great help. The way I have Vista setup I don't even need a dock. Vista start menu search ftw!
