Eidos Interactive have confirmed today that Drakensang: The Dark Eye, published by DTP Entertainment and distributed by Eidos Interactive in the UK, will be released nationwide on 27th March 2009. Already a smash hit in Germany, where Drakensang: The Dark Eye (which translates as ‘Dragon song’) is a beautifully crafted, single-player Role-Playing Game (RPG) which offers a huge and engrossing Campaign plus an intuitive Combat System set within the mythical medieval world of Aventuria.

Summoned by a letter from an old friend you suddenly find yourself charged with investigating a series of strange ritual murders. But getting to the bottom of this only means scratching the surface of a much bigger, more sinister plot… Only by surrounding yourself with trustworthy companions will you have a chance to prevent a dark conspiracy that threatens to change the world of Aventuria forever!
The game’s richly detailed environments are presented from an isometric perspective in which the player must manage a party of adventurers as they struggle to survive successive perilous encounters. From the outset Drakensang: The Dark Eye encourages the player to make as many friends as possible due, in part, to large numbers of enemies skulking in the dark corners of the city of Ferdok.

Drakensang: The Dark Eye’s story has been developed by the original The Dark Eye (Germany's #1 pen & paper RPG System) authors making the world feel totally authentic. The Dark Eye players won’t miss a thing, but RPG fans not familiar with The Dark Eye will dive into a medieval world that looks and feels like a trip to centuries-old Central Europe. Players will be able to explore beautiful cities built of framework houses, hunt monsters and creatures such as orks and dwarves in dark woods, search and find treasures in medieval castles and ascend the snow-capped mountains of the Kosh region, where the game takes place.

Isengard:I certainly hope so.
Drakensang's developers were not shy when it came to using stats, were they? ;)

Its not really something new they are just reconfirming something that most of the UK retailers have had as the date for months now.

I have the US version. Its definitely worth it if you like old school rpg's. Really having a great time with the game.

That's awesome news! I'd love to play it but not if I have to import it myself.

There's nothing hard to importing. Its basicly the same as ordering from kalahari or take2. The only difference is you have to wait a few weeks rather than a few days and you might have to pay a bit of custom tax when it arrives.

All the complicated stuff of importing gets taken care of by the retailer and delivery company they use, there's no big worries for the end user.

I've never actually tried it. And I would most likely only try it if it's a really good game that I want to get my hands on.

I didn't know that it is that easy. Thanks for the info Stefan9.

Not quite the same as ordering from Take2 or Kalahari. You do need a credit card, don't you?

I place all my orders using a credit card, whether local or international, the only exception is prophecy shop since they don't have a system in place to take credit cards yet . Yes if you don't have a credit card it would be an issue. Credit cards are one of the widest used forms of payment so that would should hardly be an issue.

I guess I could always ask a friend with a credit card to do the purchase for me and then pay them back.
