I agree with Ly 100% and I also take my hat off to James for taking things into consideration and coming up with solutions ......

Well, it's definitely an excellent compromise: we all get what we want. The rep system stays, the anonymity gets removed and the hostility gets kept in check.

Means someone failed to really give you negative rep so it ended up as neutral instead. I have a couple of those

I think it's either new members, or either members whose rep is so low it counts for nothing.

At one point, I thought rep turned grey if two memebers neg-repped each other, but after testing the theory a few times (sorry for the hapless victims, but my rep counted for very little and I didn't neg-rep good posts :P), it turned out it doesn't work that way.

Yeah I would say just take away the anonymous of it all leave the neg and pos rep as is.

I was considering resetting the whole thing and we all start from scratch.

I like the idea of having all rep at the same value, no perks for accumulating lots of karma etc.

I can revise the hovering messages and level increments to accommodate that new system.

In my experience, removing a feature will mean there is an immediate outcry and people will all act like they want it back, so a testing phase would just be pointless.

Just make the increment and decrement a constant value and not in relation to re giver/taker's rep.

Obviously keep both or else it really becomes pointless. Then drop the " anonymous" ( not like it was there ).
