When I lived in Germany I went to an air force base near our town. They let me have a go inside their Tornado jet flight simulator (Which was an actual jet kitted out with PC screens etc.) It was surreal and overwhelming at the same time. Even the seat had pockets that inflated into your ribs etc. to simulate G-force pulls.
Anyone who thinks they rock at flying jets etc. in BF2 / whatever sim would still battle their butts off inside a real simulator with tons of dials and equipment all around you.

This is probably the same (if not similar) system as the old Force Dynamics setup used for Richard Burns Rally. Force Dynamics is designed to support many different games.

The dials and equipment are probably the least of your problems. The real difference between actually driving at high speed, flying, etc. is there are forces throwing you around out in the real world. Of course they're part of the fun if you're into that sort of thing.
