Nope because without the decisions its just a sub-par shooter.

Very true, the decisions make it the masterpiece that it is. Recently started my second playthrough. It's incredible how things you do differently in ME1 (even considerably small things) can change your ME2 and subsequently your ME3 experience.

Yep too bad too many people got hung up on the crappy endings. For me it was always the journey more than the destination. At the end of ME2 already I suspected the only way for Sheps story to end was with a massive sacrifice which, i guess, is why I was able to walk, unflinchingly, into the green light. That will forever be my FemShep's Story, the Brave Soldier who paid the ultimate price.

All the weapons and armor is there you just need to rebuy it from ingame vendors for Ingame money. I would say its more stripped down the ME2 except for the weapon mods. Still not as in depth as ME1.

Crappy endings or not, it still gets an A in my books (I do have slight issues with the ending, but I can forgive). My Shepard also knew that sacrifice was inevitable, but he torched it up in a red blaze. They really made the story your own... Just curious as to what we can expect in the extended cut DLC, considering that it's an expansion of the endings and not a change.

I try not to think about it, that way I dont have to worry about it disappointing me.

Ending didn't phase me. Still a great game. When I have time I want to start the series from ME1.

I wan't to do the same, but time is so precious and scarce.

One thing I've noticed about replaying ME1, is how clunky its combat feels after having played both ME2 and ME3
