Talking Steps for Nerds to get a girl.

I got some tips off of Wikipedia and would like to see if they work for gamers and they are:
    1. You're not any different from anyone else in high school. Or middle school either.
    2. Accept that We are all unique, even if it doesn't seem that way, and every girl has a different taste. So what if you're into video games or comics, or maybe computers and coding. Anime? That's cool too! Accept who you are and don't get yourself in the mindset that you can't get a girl because of who you are.
    3. Believe in yourself. You need confidence in yourself and you need to understand that you are great. Just keep doing what you're doing in life, don't change because you think something is too nerdy.
    4. Get out there and have fun. Introduce yourself to girls, or have friends introduce some to you. I know it may seem a little scary, but that's why you need confidence. Talk to girls you're friends with or girls you go to school / work with.
    5. Even if these tips don't work at first, accept and embrace the fact that everything happens when you don't expect it. You'll get a girlfriend, and then smile and laugh at yourself, thinking, how did I get her? But you will, I promise, you will get to that point.
    6. Just live life. This is perhaps the most important step. Just life your life.
    Any comments?

LOL! Advice from Wikipedia to get a girl might not be the best start, but hey what do I know.

    Girl Gamer's Top Tip:

Find a nerdy girl gamer. You'll understand each other and respect the whole gaming culture.

P.S. Nerdy girl does not necessarily mean non-attractive girl. I am a nerd and I think I'm attractive

Hear Hear. Ultimately, just be yourself. South African society constantly tries to make us feel guilty regarding our sport and our lifestyle – especially if you're a woman. Many of the girls I attended school with had two or more mewling offspring hanging from each arm the minute they set foot out of high school. No thanks. I kill monsters. It's what I do. To reiterate powderbucket's point: If gaming's your life, it'd be beneficial to seek out a compatible partner who'll share your passion. We are indeed the minority (here in Darkest Africa ...), so it might take a bit longer, but will eventually materialise if you stay true to yourself and cultivate a bit of self confidence. The only thing I'd advise against is patriarchal behaviour. It's unnecessary and antagonistic.

I don't like the way I look at all, but recognise that my husband appreciates being married to a gamer when, for example, I'm in another room and overhear comments like:

[Party] Husband: Thanks. Nice healing. Good priest.
[Party] Random Phillipino Priest with Inflated Ego: Yes. I am God ... I know I'm awesome ...
[Party] Husband: Not as good as my wife though.
    [Party] Everyone else: BWAHAHHAHA!

Also when I buy him surprise gamer swag online or pets from the Blizzard Store.
Most women with half a brain generally favour intelligent, interesting guys with a good sense of humour / imagination over boring, predictable jocks who's main contribution to conversation is how many people they "flattied" or "how drunk they were that one time back in 'Nam".

Finding a nerd girl gamer is sometimes harder than converting your current girl into one

If you can't find a girl who's into gaming, then at least try find one with her own time-sink hobby. Otherwise all the spare time you sink into gaming will quickly become an issue.

    Tell me about.

I've dated people (who were men) who got so irritated when I played games because "my gaming was stealing important time that could be spent with them." At first they found it "rad" until they discovered I was rather serious.

For people in university I guess it is easy to just join a gaming community and hook up, but in the real world it's slightly different. Unless "mygaming-dating" is established
