Question I really love this game but want to puke thread

So i was just thinking, about gaming and about simulator sickness\game nausea.

Who here gets it and what have you done to prevent\cure it.

the last time I had it was when I played half life 2 (seems im only effected by FPS), since I pushed through the initial nausea and eventually stopped when I broke out into a cold sweat, it took 3 days for me to be back to normal.

had it a bit in skyrim as well, it seems to happen to me mostly when playing fps and getting lost, you know when you have been playing for a few hours and go into a room or area and your running around essentially in circles trying to find a way out or whatever, that annoying i just want to finish this or leave so im rushing around looking all over, I suppose the disorientation messes with my brain.

The single white dot included in Mirrors Edge was put in for the sole purpose of helping with this kind of Motion Sickness. U get it because your brain is getting signals from your eyes that is telling it you are moving but the fluid in your inner ear which helps you balance is sending your brain signals that you are not moving. Minor cases might make it through by focusing on the crossair, severe cases might need to find a new hobby.

I get it, a lot. There are only a few fps that I can play without feeling it and have noticed that while mainly the problem is with fps I discovered I got it with Batman AA as well.
What I think may be the problem is when changing screens too fast, as in going from looking at a lush forest then quickly moving the mouse upwards to look at the sky and back down.
Stopping doing that as much as possible is a small remedy to most titles. Also making sure the game runs smooth as silk helps a lot as well, any jerkyness where frames per second aren't high enough and constant causes it to heighten as well.
Simon Says: When you read this you will +1 me coz I am just that awesome that even the stupid stuff like this that I say deserves a +1

You can adjust the Field of View settings, change your distance from the monitor or play in third person view.

Most get it when playing FPS, If I take a break for a week or so and start again I get the same. Just work thru it and play.

    O.o

I only ever got it in Portal when going some of the more crazy puzzles. Even Mirror's Edge was fine.

I also only really got it with portals... my monkey brain was melting from the physics involved (or lack thereof).

What I found helps with fps games is to actually move with your body when playing... you know like you do when playing racing games with a controller on the couch? My Friends find it hilarious but it increases the immersion and helps with the inner ear issues.

Also don’t be so twitchy with your movements. I know they are necessary during pvp but when not pvping… just tone it down a notch and make your movements fluid and natural.
