    Default Decent headphones?

As much as I love my Klipsch IEMs I need a pair of decent noise cancelling headphones to drown out the chaos of my open-plan office.

A pair of Dr Dre Beats Studio would be perfect but the R3500 price tag scares my bank balance. Any recommendations for something similar at a more reasonable price?

At Washington airport I saw some really decent ones. Can't remember the name, I'll ask someone who might know tomorrow. In also keen on getting.

Have one of these that I got when my stock iphone headphones packed up. The noise cancelling is pretty insane and the sound quality if good (at least I think so) They work great with my phone and my macbook pro. I tend to break them out in the office when I need to zone out.

My Klipsch ones are buds which, despite having amazing sound quality, are just not good enough to drown out enough background noise. Thus, I'm aiming for full-sized cans this time, preferably with active noise cancellation.

Sennheiser seems to be a really good option though and very affordable too, it's just a mission trying to sort through their dozens and dozens of models.

Logitech G35's. Excellent noise cancelling. I can't hear a word my wife is saying to me even if she is right next to me. I love them! O and amazing sound quality to boot.

Stay away from Beats by Dr. Dre even if you have the cash... In any case, look for a closed acoustic design, like the Sennheiser HD 202/203 (+R400 range) the HD 439/449 (+R800 range)... Can't go wrong with Sennheiser

... Then again you could go for the Bose AE2's which go for about +R1500 depending on where you can get them. I have a friend who uses them, they are brilliant for noise cancellation and sound quality.

Thanks for that info Dee. I very nearly bought some Beats this morning!

I'm willing to drop over a grand as noise cancellation isn't much good if the audio quality is crap, so those Bose ones might be an option.

Then go for Bose, you won't regret it one bit.
