    Default New gaming headset

I've been slowley upgrading my pc, and it's time to get myself a quality headset! I'm honestly not very clued up about what makes a good headset good, so hopefully someone here can help me out
My budget is around R1300 so hopefully I can get something decent.

I've been looking at the Logitech G35 because I know the Logitech brand is fairly reliable, but I'm also very interested in the CM Storm Sirus 5.1 headset, my case and mouse are both CM Storm so I thought it would fit in well :P Also the Corsair Vengeance 1500, just cause it's cheaper name brand 5.1.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction thanks

    OK

Im the biggest logitech fan around. I use everything that Logitech possibly bring out.. Including about 10 differnet mouses. couplle of keyboards even TV remotes.

But take it from me the Logitech G35 is not the way to go.

The G930 is Brilliant and wireless but over your budget.

any sub R1500 headset budget = R650-R750 and that is for the Roccat kave 5.1

You can even then use the remaining funds to buy a xonar soundcard.

    And fully enjoy your kaves.

There is no headset better than the kaves.

This is for gaming. as its 5.1

Your senheizers has better stereo quality for music

Yeah Logi G35 is digital surround and Kaves is analogue surround, The Kaves is the way to go for gaming for your budget Then use the Xonar DG headphone soundcard(R299 I think) and its really worth it for the Kaves.

Why not look at a proper headset?

Gaming headsets aren't all that great and only the top tier brands are decent.

    Proper headsets are al stereo.

I prefer the 5.1 directional audio for gaming . It gives you a MASSIVE boost.

That depends on the user. Have you played BF3 with a proper stereo headset mate?
    Its a completely different experience.

I own 2x Logitech G35's and I have owned Roccat kaves.

Both are epic for gaming but sound quality is far from special, compared to a proper stereo headset.
You also don't need to spend a fortune, you can get a really decent stereo headset for around 1k.

Like I said its up to the user though.

    Roccat Kaves or bust :P

Directional audio, specially in Comp gaming makes a huge difference. I can hear Cranky's silent sneaky B plant on crossfire all the way from A Grass
