meh. For that price rather get a SSD for gaming and a 1TB vanilla hdd for media storage.

That Hard Drive is sweet, 10 000RPM speed for a 1TB HDD. Wish there was something similar for Laptops.
(Dell XPS L502X) Intel Core i7 2630QM | 6GB DDR3 1333MHz | Nvidia GT 525M 1GB DDR3 | Intel HD Graphics 3000 | 15.6" WLED HD Display | 500GB 7200RPM HDD
I don't see a point in this drive.
SSD > Veloci-raptor.
The SSD might not have as much space, but that is what you have low-power 2-3TB HDD's for.
So you just keep your current games that you play on your SSD and the installations, etc. on the other HDD's.
With TRIM and other garbage collection techniques, SSD's won't "gegenerate" fast either.
10,000RPM drives traditionally are more suited for file servers. I'm kind of surprised they're labelling it as a part of a gaming series.
I remember about over 10 years ago, I had an 18gb 15,000 RPM SCSI drive for my boot drive. Doesn't even come close to my SSD boot drive is capable of today. In fact, the 7,200RPM SATA II drives get about the same throughput the old SCSI drive was capable of. AFAIK, the speed of the drive only really comes in useful when there's lots of users trying to access data on it (but I could be wrong)

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo that looks oooooorrrrrsome!!!
