Maybe not 5x better but I'm making a point and if you play on my level you would know what I'm talking about.. their are times you see certain things that are about to happen but you cant react fast enough due to the ping holding you back and not your human reactions. Animations also lag due to our ping and ISP services and theirs times where certain spells hit on your own screen but in actual fact misses and that's caused by our ping being so high. All these small things make a huge difference at a high level of competitive play and can be the difference between losing or winning a major team fight.

I wonder if people would still vote yes if it meant them having to create a new account and losing access to all their champions, skins, runes, levels, etc.

You can transfer accounts on LoL. Would not be so big a faf to transfer your account to an African server.

I would love a server here but im not to sure if the player numbers are sufficient for a server here.

I must say I am not keen at all for an SA server. Only playing vs SA players wont grow our skill as much as playing vs international teams. So what about the disadvantage, be proud with what you can achieve with 250 ping. Even with 250ms my teams finds it easy enough to dodge most things as long as you have movement prediction enabled. And when it comes to SA based tourneys you are all on the same level anyway so it shouldn't matter. Getting our hands on a local tourney client with everything unlocked would be awesome but I would still play on international.

You can transfer between the official servers, but would the same be true for a third party server?

Not to sure. To play on the Korean server you need a Korean ID number(its actually got a specific abbreviation but cant remember).

But like i said the numbers wont allow it to happen locally. It was the same with WoW. The money that has to be spent to ensure the quality of service will not be covered by the number of players playing on the server.

What they could do is start to recognise more that Africa is actually also playing their game and maybe give us a bit more support for the biggest gaming expo in Africa than just some RP and skins.

But they could have given nothing also so it is what it is.
