I can't Decide how I feel about ODST

I got Halo 3: ODST on saturday and played for half and hour or so. I can't decide if i like it or not. I think it might be coz i tried to play it like Halo 3. Gunz a blazing. Anybody else played it. What are your opinions?

I realized that. Its not Halo Halo but Halo Halo.... wait that doesnt make any sense. Will spend more time with it. I dont hate it just cant decide if i like it or not.

Ok so i started again. From the beginning on Heroic. Took my time, aimed for the head and with in an hour i was on the other side of the Buck mission. ODST does an awesome job of making you feel very human. I mean taking down two hunters with MC was a breeze but with only an ODST it was considerably more challenging. I like the headshot functionality, something i didn't notice so much in previous Halo games. So ive decided that i like it. Makes me want to play through the entire Halo trilogy all over again.

I like it...not love it. I loved Halo series. Notice passed tense because when it first came out it thru' me back. But now I'm used to the Halo franchise and ODST is just an add-on so to say. ODST won't be the same as when I first started playing halo. But then again its good to play the storyline.
But yeah the feel does change it alot playing as a human. I'm also playing it on Legendary which makes it damn hard. No dual wield or guns 'a blazing.

I thought about going Legendary but then decided against it. I agree completely with what you said. Its nice to see the story from a different angle but it doesn't bring anything new, gameplay, wise. Its stil Halo even though its not Halo. I think the rule of 3 applies here. Few franchises survive beyond a 3rd installment. Aliens 3 was ok but 4 sucked. Die Hard 3 was good but 4 had that something missing. Games are the same. I hope reach brings us something new.

Played Fire fight for the first time last night on the crater map. Only managed a meager 9600 points and 4 waves but it was fun. Its all a bit new but must say i found it incredibly addictive.
