Thread: Assassin's Creed II Screen Tearing on PS3

Default Assassin's Creed II Screen Tearing on PS3

Is it me or do you guys experience a lot of screen tearing in this game, especially during the loading (Animus 2.0) and during gameplay (less but still prevalent)? Dont see any of it in Uncharted 2 or Borderlands so im hoping its the game..

Yeah, there's not much you can do about it except buy a 120hz screen (which would be overkill just to fix this). In certain rendered scenes where there isn't much detail, the GPU starts pushing out more frames than a 60hz screen can handle. Stand facing a corner under a light and move the camera up and down, you should get some hectic tearing.

Hmm, I will load mine up later tonight and check. I can't recall tearing, but I may be mistaken since I have a higher than normal tolerance to it.

    Update this post later.

In some games yes, most games don't have significant/any tearing. 100hz is actually very decent, the refresh rate SHOULD be good enough to avoid tearing completely in the majority of games.

Sorry for the late update. Mine is okay, I guess it helps having a 120hz TV.
