These problems will start cropping up more and more as the console become more powerful. See how hot modern laptops run already and most of them don't have the kind of processing (esp graphics) these new consoles have. More processing == more heat. So keeping it cool is a very good suggestion. Maybe put it down on something hard and smooth like a table (not carpet) and keep the vents unobstructed (like you would with a laptop).
