Win Darksiders with Ster Kinekor and MyGaming

Darksiders II has us excited, so we’re giving away Darksiders I to celebrate!

With the recently re-announced launch date of Darksiders II and some jaw-dropping CGI trailers bolstering the hype, we’re pretty excited to take another romp through THQ and Vigil Games’ upcoming action-adventure Darksiders II.

The first game in the series was hit here at MyGaming, with yours-truly giving it a solid 86% in the review: Darksiders: Wrath of War review

To celebrate the upcoming sequel, our friends at Ster Kinekor – distributor of THQ products in South Africa – have three copies of the original game to give away to the MyGaming community: one each for PS3, PC and box 360. Winners will have some bonus goodies thrown in as well, including T-shirts, key-rings, lanyards and figurines.

Darksiders is loosely based on the contents of the Biblical Book of Revelation, in which the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are described. The Horsemen are on-call for when the three kingdoms – heaven, hell, and the kingdom of man – engage in the final apocalyptic battle.

The horsemen are waiting for the seven seals of the pact to be broken before they ride once again. However, treachery and skulduggery are afoot, and somehow one of the Horsemen (War) is summoned without the seals being broken. War is quickly blamed for bringing about the apocalypse prematurely, and he sets off to clear his name. For the most part, the game takes place on an Apocalypse ravaged Earth.

Developer, Vigil Games had the assistance of comic artist Joe Madureira (X-Men, Battle Chasers, The Ultimates) when developing the game, and his influence can be spotted everywhere. All of the characters, enemies and environments are well designed, detailed, colourful and interesting.
