The point of this devilishly daring deceit is to toss a wrench of common sense into the gears of the rumour mill. What prompted it is the recent “leak” of supposed Assassin’s Creed 4 images and details: Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag rumoured details.

Far be it from MyGaming to question Kotaku’s tipsters, or Redditors who claim to have sneaked a peek at marketing powerpoint presentations during a flight. This is just a reminder to take everything with a pinch of salt – we’ve seen and reported on our fair share of rumours that turned out to be false.

We love games just as much as the next gamer, and we are always keen to discuss any potential news about our favourite pastime.

What are you thoughts on the never-ending stream of supposed leaks? Is it clever marketing or simple bungling of marketing materials.

Let us know your thought in the comments below and on the MyGaming forum.
