Telkom ADSL speed boost update
Telkom’s CEO provides further details about the company’s 1Mbps, 2Mbps and 10Mbps speed upgrades
Telkom CEO Nombulelo Moholi announced today (19 November 2012) that the 1Mbps to 2Mbps ADSL upgrades are completed, and that the upgrade of 384kbps to 1Mbps will be completed by the end of November 2012.
Moholi further highlighted that Telkom currently has close to 200,000 10Mbps ADSL services installed in the company’s ongoing 4Mbps DSL speed upgrades.
Telkom’s high speed broadband rollout, where services up to 40Mbps are offered, is also going strong.
Moholi said that installation of 53 multi-service access nodes (MSANs) has been completed, and that a high-speed broadband trial using this new network commenced in October.
The Telkom CEO added that around 80% of all ADSL orders are installed within 7 days, and that the company is resolving 85% of billing disputes within 3 days.
