Digital download gaming deals this weekend

Need a new game but don’t want to leave the comfort of home? These download specials might sort you out

Xbox LIVE, Steam, GOG.com, Indie Royale all have some appealing specials this week, along with some smaller digital outlets that could just be packing what you need.

Indie Royale Evolved Bundle

Indie Royale is back with another healthy dose of indie game titles. The Evolved Bundle features an award winning, puzzle adventure game Unmechanical; atmospheric horror game The Path; squad based dungeon game, Krater, including the character DLC; the full game of the IGF China 2010′s winner, Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory; and an intricate scrolling puzzler, OIO: The Game.

Drop US$8 or more on the bundle and you will get an ambient electronic album from Tim Wright of CoLD SToRAGE, called ‘SLIPSTREAM [volume 1]‘. The album features 64 bit digital re-mix / re-masters of Wright’s tracks from WipEout and WipEout 2097.

Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week

Street Fighter X Tekken fans can grab a bunch of costume packs on the ZA Xbox LIVE Marketplace Deal of the Week. Gold members receive a 50% discount on the standard prices.

Classic action-adventure game Dragon’s Lair, an Arcade Kinect title, is going cheap for 400 MS Points.

Steam Specials

Firm favourite Steam is keeping it rather toned down this weekend, but still has some great offers on stand-out titles such as dungeon crawling gem Legend of Grimrock for US$5.09; and Painkiller Hell & Damnation for US$6.79.

GOG.com Specials

DRM-free specialist GOG.com has 20 games on its weekend promo, all 60% off the standard prices. Stand-out titles include tactical RPG Jagged Alliance 1 and 2; the great puzzle game Ghost Master; trading sims Patrician 3 and Port Royale 2; and destruction derby racing game FlatOut.
