Games you can play this week

games you can play this week 1

With a period jam-packed full of explosive titles, this week sees two games that have the potential to be overlooked, but by all means should definitely not be.

Far Cry 3:  Blood Dragon (1 May 2013)

If you think Far Cry 3 was done and dusted, think again, as Ubisoft’s island shooter is heading back to a retro-inspired future… if that makes any sense.

Blood Dragon is a crazy twist on the setting and milieu of Far Cry 3’s tropical location and time, and throws players into an 80’s inspired futuristic sci-fi romp; and being released this week, it should be checked out.

Colourful settings, weapons, and dinosaurs that shoot lasers out of their eyes are all part of the action that Blood Dragon features, and you can download it from the comfort of your home through PSN, XBLA and on PC.

Soul Sacrifice (3 May 2013)

The Vita hasn’t seen many of its deserved big-name releases, but Sony’s latest handheld is getting a pretty tantalising game this week.

Soul Sacrifice is the baby of Keiji Inafune, best known for co-designing Mega Man, and is set to bring large-scale action role playing to the pint-sized system.

One of the most interesting aspects of Soul Sacrifice is the combat in the game, which features a twist. Players can either choose to sacrifice or save their enemies – with sacrificing giving the player powerful spells, yet saving them will allow you to turn them into an ally.

Soul Sacrifice will also take full control of the Vita’s touch functionality.
