MyGaming takes a look at the WoW visual changes implemented in the wake of the Cataclysm
Deathwing the Destroyer (aka Neltharion, the Earth-Warder) has lain dormant in his secluded dragon sanctuary in Deepholm, the elemental plane of earth. Recovered from the grievous wounds he suffered during the Second War, Deathwing rises, chaos in his wake.
Sundering the land, causing a festering rift to form across the continents of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, Deathwing unleashes a cataclysm upon Azeroth.
The face of the world is altered forever as Deathwing reshapes the land and reveals secrets long since lost. Deathwing exercises control other the land and its fathoms – lava is a central theme. The Cataclysm expansion was probably a day one purchase for WoW players still entrenched in the game. For those whom have since left the MMO behind, the promise of stark changes and a new batch of world-changing lore to explore may be sufficient to lure back dormant veterans.
There are also gamers quite enthralled with the lore of WarCraft, but not keen on sinking time and money into Blizzard’s epic MMO.
To this end, MyGaming has put together some pictures showcasing the changes that have been wrought in key areas across Azeroth. Of course, there have also been some graphics tweaks and water rendering has been changed completely. Those whom haven’t already finished the Cataclysm expansion and non-participants might get a taste of things to come.
