PS Vita launch titles revealed
Full list of launch titles, social features, augmented reality and games in development
We all know the PS Vita is heading our way on 22 February 2012, but information surrounding what’s going to be available day-one with Sony’s next-gen portable has been pretty scarce.
MyGaming recently delved into the details surrounding the 3G network partners, with local cellular network provider Vodacom “in talks” with Sony Computer Entertainment distributors in South Africa, Ster Kinekor, about possible deals – but what gamers really want to hear about, are the games.
At a PS Vita event in held in London last night (22 November 2011), Sony unveiled exactly which games you can be expecting on launch day, as well as a wealth of titles that are currently in development for the portable.
Also on show at the event, were the PS Vita’s social features – showing how you’ll be connecting to the world around you; and with the augmented reality feature, that may be more literal than you think.
We’re still waiting to hear what the local RRP will be, but online retailers are pegging pre-orders around the R3,499 mark for the Wi-Fi plud 3G version of the PS Vita.
Social Features
The PS Vita’s social features are called “Social Essentials” and include Twitter and Facebook as you’d expect, but also FourSquare and now Flickr as well.
Augmented Reality Markers
Following Nintendo’s lead with the 3DS, the PS Vita has augmented reality as an avenue that is being fully explored by Sony – with 3 games that use the technology being available for free download from the PlayStation Store at launch.
