Following the leaked release of the first two in-game images from the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Halo 4, 343 Industries engine programmer Corrinne Yu has called it the “best looking game” ever on the Xbox 360.

“It’s the best looking game on Xbox and any other consoles we ever made and we’re all from AAA studios. So proud of team,” said Yu on Twitter.

She also said “We are super glad. We all can’t wait to share with you what we are crunching so hard on. #halo4″

“We really enjoy working on #HALO4. Time flies when coding work is so much fun. Even more fun when we’re done”.

Meanwhile, two images from the game have been released. According to a developer from 343 Industries who posted on the Neogaf forums, the images were taken in-game using a “debug camera with in-engine depth of field”.

The developer has also confirmed in an official capacity that the images are real, and taken directly from the game’s engine and are completely untouched.

Official gameplay video footage is expected to be released later. So we will be keeping an eye out for that.

Halo 4 is the eighth instalment of the Halo franchise and is intended to be the first of a new trilogy of Halo games named the “Reclaimer Trilogy.”

Whereas as all Halo games to date have been developed by Bungie, Halo 4 changed hands to 343 Industries. The game will pick up sometime after the ending of Halo 3, and it will mark the return of Master Chief as the main protagonist.
