Wii U graphics are not up to Xbox 360, PS3 standards: reports

“The Wii U just can’t quite keep up,” claim devs

In news that will have the Nintendo crowd clambering to remind us that it doesn’t matter anyway because all the best games are in 2D, the Wii U’s visuals are allegedly not up to the same standard as the Xbox and PS3.

That’s according to an anonymous “major” developer, who told GamesIndustry that the console is “not up to the same level as the PS3 or the 360. The graphics are just not as powerful.”

“Yeah, that’s true. It doesn’t produce graphics as well as the PS3 or the 360. There aren’t as many shaders, it’s not as capable. Sure, some things are better, mostly as a result of it being a more modern design. But overall the Wii U just can’t quite keep up,” added another anonymous “major” developer.

“You can do everything with that combo that you can with the Wii U, and more,” said one of the anonymous “major” developers previously quoted, although it’s not clear which one it was. All this cloak and daggers stuff is a bit confusing.

But, you know, it doesn’t matter because all the best games are in 2D.
