Tony Hawk is returning in true HD glory in June 2012 according to a tweet from the Birdman himself.

The legendary skateboarder thanked Robomodo’s Joshua Tsui for a donation of clean water to the Tony Hawk charity, and then confirmed that the HD remake will be landing in June.

Seems like Robomodo are feeling very charitable, because the HD release is a pure love-letter to all old-school Tony Hawk Pro Skater fans.

The downloadable game will not be an HD porting of the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but rather a blend of levels from the first two instalments, remade in a brand new engine designed for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Confirmed playable characters include Tony Hawk, Chris Cole, Eric Koston, Nyjah Huston, Andrew Reynolds, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), and Tony’s son Riley Hawk.
