Feeling a little empty after Epic’s bro-dude chainsawing trilogy, it has been confirmed that Gears of War will be returning sooner than you may have thought.

Microsoft and Epic Games are preparing to show off their brand new Gears of War game at E3 next week.

Revealed on the July cover of GameInformer, the title is still unknown and although details are incredibly scarce, the game is set to take place on Sera, leading to assumptions that the game may play out as a prequel.

The image itself shows a silhouetted man in handcuffs being escorted by COG soldiers. Hmmmm, sounds awfully familiar.

Anyone who has played the Gears of War series will know that Marcus Fenix was arrested after abandoning his duty, in order to save his father during the Pendulum Wars (which occurred before the events of Gears of War).

Expect to find out about the new Gears of War game when Microsoft reveal all the details at their E3 press conference.

Are you excited for some more Gears? What do you make of the mysterious image?

Stay tuned to MyGaming for all the E3 coverage as it unfolds.
