Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC will be available in South Africa at retailers, and through Steam and Microsoft Marketplace, from 24 August 2012.

The Prepare to Die Edition comes with the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, which is launching for consoles later the year (no confirmed date yet).

Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss for consoles and Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will include new maps and environments; new bosses, enemies and non-playable characters; an arsenal of new weapons and armour; and new challenging content.

Players will also experience an as yet untold chapter in Dark Souls lore set in the dying kingdom of magic known as Oolacile. Unwillingly taken by the abyss and sent back in time, the player becomes the only one who can save Oolacile from the spreading darkness that threatens to engulf the kingdom and all of its people.

Both versions will include an online match-making feature for co-op or player vs. player gameplay, allowing gamers to showcase their skills against other Dark Souls players around the world.

SA distributor Megarom has confirmed that we will be receiving the special Prepare to Die Edition contents at SA retail. This includes the 150 page art book featuring art from the new Artorias of the Abyss game content. It also features the original soundtrack CD, a DVD containing a “behind the scenes” video series, poster and postcards.
