Ubisoft’s having their fun spoiled by a Neogaf forum poster who has (allegedly) leaked pages of the July issue fof Game Informer, which details the new Assassin’s Creed game for the Playstation Vita, Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation.

According to the forumite, the game is set between the years 1765 and 1780, yet somehow involves the 1763 end of the French and Indian War, and players will take the role as a French black female assassin who goes by the name Aveline. The game will apparently not be related to Desmond in any way.

The game is supposedly being developed by Ubisoft Sofia, although when asked Ubisoft gave a (possibly grumpy) “no comment”.

The game is due to launch alongside the console version of Assassin’s Creed III on October 30th.

Ubisoft and Playstation’s E3 press conferences are on Monday, so official confirmation should be coming then. If the game is being detailed in Game Informer, it would most likely be getting some attention at E3 in the way of an “official” reveal.

At the moment this is just information from a forum, however the user did post a rather convincing looking picture of the magazine as well, so it does hold a bit more water than usual.

If it is true, then it’s safe to assume Ubisoft are going to be none too happy with the spoiler; they have a history of not taking these kinds of things very well.
