New Mario games unveiled for Wii U, 3DS
What would E3 be without Mario?
New Super Mario Bros. U (WiiU)
New Super Mario Bros. U is a new yet extremely familiar 2D side scrolling Mario game for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U home console. For the first time players are able to add their Mii’s into Mario’s world which promises to contain various new powerups and items.
Like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the game can be played with friends and features a new Boost Mode that allows a player to lend Mario and the gang a hand using the WiiU GamePad.
Game & Wario (WiiU)
As a new entry into the WarioWare series, Game & Mario (working title) is a collection of mini-games that utilizes the WiiU GamePad in various single and multiplayer modes.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS)
As a sequel to New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS, players are immersed into a 2D environment scattered with golden coins – the key focus of the game.
While coins have always been a component part of any good Mario game, they are the heart of New Super Mario Bros. 2 with coins falling from the sky, dropped by enemies and trailed behind players.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be distributed as physical copies and through the Nintendo e-Shop.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)
Paper Mario: Sticker Star is the official title of the previously announced “Paper Mario for 3DS” which features sticker collecting as the primary game mechanic. Players explore the paper-themed environment in search of stickers that act as items and powers used during combat.
