Many Cape Town residents feel hard done by with Joburg getting the big annual rAge expo every October, leaving the Western Cape relatively neglected (besides the great work from 2upGamers).

In terms of a full-scale show, plans are in motion to bring a complete 3-day gaming expo to the city of Cape Town, granting local gamers the exhibition they deserve.

The GameX electronic and gaming expo is promising to bring another industry showcase to light, with publishers and distributors showing off their latest and forthcoming games and tech for the budding South African audience.

The event description promises that “each and every exhibitor will bring not only their known magic, but something to delight your real and virtual sense all at once”.

GameX is scheduled to take place between from 12-14 April 2013, and will run across the whole weekend.

A fitting venue for Cape Town’s first gaming expo has also been snagged – the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Information regarding which publishers and developers will be present are still in the works. MyGaming has contacted the event organisers and more details will follow.
