While the prospect was daunting, it was only a matter of time before someone finished Diablo III on Inferno difficulty in Hardcore mode.

When playing in Hardcore mode, players who die, die forever. You cannot reuse or load your character, so basically, death in Hardcore mode means the end of your run. Anyone who even dares this mode gets our nod, and if they manage to complete the game, that’s something else on its own.

Kipparrian was the one who’s managed to claim this feat, as he took down the Lord of Terror himself in said mode with a Barbarian character.

Kipparrian streamed his attempt, which was watched by almost 45,000 viewers, which gave him a pretty impressive audience when the end credits began rolling.

We’ve got to say, Kipparrian is one crazy bugger, and congrats to him for setting out and finishing his goal, despite being killed a number of times.

UPDATE

Blizzard community manager Micah “Bashiok” Whiple has confirmed via twitter that this was indeed the first Hardcore Inferno completion of Diablo III.
