Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima was at San Diego Comic Con this week, and the legendary game designer was showing something behind-closed-doors. What that was exactly is unknown.

But a few hours later a bunch of Metal Gear Solid 5 images began to creep out through Twitter.

The pictures, showing a “Metal Gear Solid 5″ title screen along with the tagline “Open Ground Reconnaissance Endevors”, were pretty low-res and the validity of them was sketchy, and Kojima has come out on his personal Twitter account to debunk the rumours.

Kojima said that the logo “is completely fake” and added: “”I apologise to those who were looking forward to it.”"

Kojima has previously said that another Metal Gear Solid is in development, and the pictures actually resonated with many of the rumours and info circulating, although Kojima’s comments have put a damper on the whole thing.

Are you disheartened at Kojima’s response? Or do you think he’s possibly swaying attention away from something that may actually exist?
