Portal 2′s Space Core going to space on shuttle

What’s your favourite thing about going to space? Mine is going to space.

Space Core

Space space wanna go to space yes please space. Space space. Go to space. Space space wanna go to space. Space space going to space oh boy. Ba! Ba! Ba ba ba! Space! Ba! Ba! Ba ba ba! I’m going to space. Hey hey hey hey hey! I love space. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m going. Going to space. Love space. Need to go to space. Space space space. Going. Going there. Okay. I love you, space.

And then Space Core went to space. Sort of.

Somebody over at NASA’s spaceship factory added a laser-engraved image of Portal 2′s Space Core onto a panel on the Japanese HTV-3 resupply craft, which launched on Friday for the International Space Station. That’s in space, so technically, that puts Space Core in space.

Are we in space yet? What’s the hold up? Gotta go to space. Gotta go to SPACE.

“NASA in no way officially endorses secretly laser-engraving characters from Portal onto their spacecraft,” reads an update on the Portal 2 blog. “Believe it or not, they don’t even officially endorse Portal 2, despite the fact that it’s a really excellent game.”

For some reason, the Portal 2 blog mistakenly identifies Space Core as Wheatley. Mistakenly? Sounds like a plot, more like. Wheatley just wants you to think he’s in space, so you won’t know he’s not really in space at all, but in the cupboard under your kitchen sink, plotting vengeance.
