Dead Space 3 screenshots introduce the Feeder
EA ensures horror returns to their limb-severing threequel
With Dead Space 3 getting co-op, it seems that many fans were worried that the series would become less scary and instead focus on trying to be an action-packed shooter.
EA have eased these worries by releasing a set of new screens showing some pretty tense situations, and emphasising the moody atmosphere of the frozen planet you’ll be exploring with Isaac and his new comrade, John.
The screenshots also give us a glimpse of the newest enemies, the Feeders, which are a type of necromorph that are created when a human eats the corrupted flesh of a dead necromorph.
The premise of Dead Space 3 picks up after a crash-landing on a hostile planet known as Tau Volantis, and series hero Isaac Clarke discovers that this planet could be the key to ending the Necromorph infestation. In his violent hunt for answers, Isaac must battle sub-zero, icy conditions and deadly, highly-evolved enemies including all-new Necromorphs, gigantic boss creatures and even misguided zealot humans.
Dead Space 3 releases in February 2013.
