DICE and EA have released some new details about the mysterious upcoming DLC for Battlefield 3, Aftermath.

According to the official site, Aftermath is set in Tehran, Iran, in the aftermath of an earthquake, which depicts “a continuing struggle for supremacy amongst the devastation”.

The urban-based combat will emphasise vertical and horizontal combat amongst the dust and rubble of the city ruins.

The damaged and destroyed structures and environments will provide unique cover and change the way players take on objectives.

New modified military and civilian vehicles are “specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy” and will play a role in the action.

In addition to four new maps, a whole new game mode, new assignments, achievements and dog tags are also coming along with Aftermath.

Aftermath is the fourth of five Battlefield 3 add ons (Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, Aftermath, End Game).
