Gran Turismo 6 waiting on PS4?
Next entry into GT series is looking to take hold of the “latest technology”
The Gran Turismo series had a stop/start campaign on the Playstation 3, with GT5 Prologue and GT5 ending up being years apart from one another. Polyphony Digital are already looking to get their racing franchise back on track for the future.
At the China Joy event in Beijing, series chief Kazunori Yamauchi said that ”we’re always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression”, when asked about the inevitable Gran Turismo 6.
Yamauchi mentioned that work on GT6 began immediately after the release of GT5 in late 2010.
Fans also quizzed the developer on the potential for a PS Vita version of Gran Turismo. Yamauchi replied: “If we were to make it, we’d like to make use of the ability to play anywhere and the ability to use 3G at any time.”
And on the topic of modding functionality in GT5, Yamauchi said: “If we can find a good balance, we’d like to increase the areas where users can make modifications.”
