Telkom ADSL speed upgrade roll-out dates revealed
Telkom releases its new 1Mbps and 2Mbps ADSL speed upgrade schedule which changed from earlier plans
Telkom will start upgrading its “Up to 1024kbps” to “Up 2048kbps” from 24 August 2012, and will start upgrading its 384kbps ADSL users to 1Mbps from 1 October 2012.
The new upgrade plans are slightly different from the previous ADSL speed upgrade schedule where Telkom said that “the process will start in August and run through to September”.
Telkom has now provided updated details about its planned ADSL speed upgrades which will commence as follows:
- The Up to 1024 kbps will be upgraded to Up 2048 kbps from the 24th of August 2012 and will continue for approximately six weeks due to the extensive base on these services.
- The planned upgrade for the Up to 384 kbps to 1024 kbps will commence on the 01st of October 2012 and will also continue for approximately six weeks.
Manelisa Mavuso, Telkom’s managing director for consumer services and retail, said that “Telkom is enhancing its value proposition to truly differentiate our broadband offerings. We are accelerating the evolution of broadband offerings in the country.”
