Fan-made Mass Effect point and click adventure in development

Jack’s back, baby.

While everybody else was complaining about the Mass Effect 3 ending, one enterprising fan out there decided to take those questions without answers and turn them into inscrutable inventory puzzles in an old school point and click adventure. That’s the sort of thinking I can get behind, especially if it involves a dead fish with no obvious purpose that you carry around the entire game. It’s like a metaphor for Miranda.

If you haven’t played Mass Effect 3, and you plan to, and you haven’t already accidentally found out how it ends in a YouTube comment, the following description might be a bit spoilerish. You’ve been warned.

Finding Shepard is set after the controversial Mass Effect 3 finish (the one where the Reapers are destroyed), and sees Jack under house arrest for – what else, really – punching Admiral Hackett. With Commander Shepard assumed dead, Jack’s off on a mission to prove he isn’t, and will use every F-bomb at her disposal to make sure of that.

According to the creator, the game will also feature Wrex, Kasumi, and Miranda. See, I totally called it on the useless dead fish.

No word yet on when we’ll be able to play this, but a demo is reportedly “in the works”.
