Konami has confirmed that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be coming to PCs in addition to the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases.

“Castlevania: Lords of Shadow successfully rebooted the franchise but now we want to go further and exceed people’s expectations on what to expect from the sequel,” said producer Dave Cox.

The PC version is currently being developed in-house at Mercury Steam, and will bring the current-gen Castlevania experience to the platform for the first time.

“This new game tells a much broader tale and one that spans centuries. It is a game that pushes whatever format it is on to the absolute limit, and we are delighted that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2’s rich blend of first-class fighting, deep exploration and rich storytelling are set to delight and enthrall PC users, too.”

Konami revealed Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 at a pre-E3 show in June, along with a trailer for the upcoming action adventure game featuring Gabriel Belmont (the predecessor’s protagonist).

Gabriel leaves his Gothic castle and decides to take on a horde of enemies with some new supernatural powers, looking a little “darker” than we’ve seen him before.

The best part of the trailer is when it climaxes with another familiar face in the Castlevania series popping up.
