Riot Games reclaims porn site domain

LeagueofLegends.co URL no longer redirects to naughty photos

Those of you who thought League of Legends was a porn site will have to get your perv on somewhere else – game developer Riot Games has secured rights to the URL LeagueofLegends.co (minus that important “m”), originally claimed by a domain squatter and redirected to a site filled with x-rated content.

According to browser data firm Alexa, LeagueofLegends.com is counted among the top 1,500 sites on the internet, so the millions users who (accidentally, I’m sure) left out that “m” would probably have put quite a lot of traffic onto the other site.

Riot Games filed a lawsuit with the World Intellectual Property Organization back in August against LeagueofLegends.co URL owner Martin Hornak. The case has been settled on undisclosed terms, and the URL now points to a family-friendly GoDaddy placeholder.

That’s one down, one to go – LeagueofLegendsPorn.com is still hanging in there with a “COMING SOON” banner, although maybe it’s just really cool gameplay videos. Maybe not.
