Zombies ate my vacation

Dead Island Riptide

Dead Island publisher Deep Silver has dropped the first info and images of Dead Island: Riptide, the sequel to last year’s sandbox zombie ‘pocalypse-in-paradise.

The game features the same protagonists from the original (and you’ll be able to import your characters if you’ve played it), as well as an as yet unidentified fifth person. And everything is about to go from really, really, really bad to so much worse – the whole place has been hit by a monsoon, and everything is now covered in zombies and water. Worst holiday ever.

According to the official game description:

The survivors of the zombie-apocalypse on the once beautiful island resort of Banoi escaped in a helicopter to the safety of a military ship. When a furious storm hits and the virus suddenly spreads throughout the crew, the nightmare starts all over again, leaving hope drowning in the rising tides.

Devastated by a monsoon, the island of Palanai is crawling with new zombie mutations. A fifth character with an all-new skillset will join the team, providing much needed support. Additional multiplayer communication features and brand new hub defense missions will test the survivor’s teamplay skills.

The game’s out on PC, PS3, and Xbox next year.
