Insomniac has announced its newest IP, Fuse, along with a trailer, which gives a taste of the game’s robot vs. human warfare.

Originally known as Overstrike, Insomniac’s four-person co-op shooter has had a serious overhaul.

The game follows four CIA agents who each have unique skill sets and (in typical Insomniac fashion) crazy over-the-top weaponry.

Dalton Brooks, Izzy Sinclair, Jacob Kimble, and Naya Deveraux are the only things standing between humanity and a deadly alien energy source called Fuse, which a paramilitary organisation called Raven is trying to get its hands on.

Players will be able to switch from agent to agent to command the upper hand on the battlefield and have access to extraordinary Fuse-powered weapons that can be combined for a devastating effect.

Fuse will be out for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2013.
