Wii U makes first public appearance in SA at rAge 2012

Core Group, official distributor of Nintendo products in South Africa, has announced that the Wii U will be on hand at the rAge 2012 expo, taking place from 5 October – 7 October 2012, at the Coca-Cola dome, Johannesburg.

The Wii U will be on display ahead of its 30 November 2012 launch, and expo-goers can get some hands-on time with the device, playing games such as Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros U, Wii Fit U, and ZombiU.

The newly launched Nintendo 3DS XL console will also be on show, boasting a larger screen, along with the original 3DS. Games on hand include New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Mario Kart 7.

There will also be a Mario Kart 7 tournament at rAge, with a 3DS XL up for grabs.

For current Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL handheld owners, there is incentive to bring along your device and try find Princess Peach, Mario and Luigi via StreetPass and Mii Plaza. There will be spot prizes for those who do so.

The “Genius Bar” will be open to all 3DS and 3DS XL owners, where they can bring their devices in for a check-up to ensure they have all the latest SpotPass system updates and correct settings.
