Xbox Live Rewards offer real money for Achievements, if less than a dollar is “real money”

But wait, there’s more… (there isn’t)

Xbox Live Rewards has revealed what the dedicated trophy-hunting achievement chasers will be getting for all their hard effort.

The level of reward you get is dependent on your Gamerscore, everyone will be getting a “special gift” during their birthday month, but the higher your score, the better your gift will be.

Rewards members who have managed a Gamerscore of between 3000 and 9999 will get a gift of an average value of… $.25. Nope, I didn’t accidentally let my ellipsis run through there, that’s not twenty five dollars, that’s twenty five cents. What gift can be worth that? Your guess is as good as mine, but it’s unlikely to blow your mind.

If, however, you’ve cracked a Gamerscore of between 10,000 and 24,999, you get a 1 percent rebate on your XBLA Market purchases each month. If your achievement hunting is starting to seem all for nothing at this point, you’re right. It was.

If you have an enormous Gamerscore of over 25,000, you’re in the upper tier, and will be rewarded with an exponentially higher 2 percent rebate on your Marketplace purchases. So if you were hoping to get say, $20 worth of MS Points back, you’d only have to spend $1000 on XBLA downloads.

Oh Microsoft, you spoil us.
