It’s Friday, and while friends and family makes plans to spend time irradiating their ectodermal tissue layers under the daystar, gamers around the planet are getting ready to shut themselves in and play games. It’s the healthy choice! That’s why I put pink hearts in the header image*.

Over on Steam, there’s a free weekend and big savings for indie FPS-slash-tower defence-’em-up Sanctum, as well as mega-sized discounts on Focus Home Interactive games.

From now until Monday, you can play Sanctum for the low, low price of absolutely nothing, or you can buy the game for just $2.49 (around R20 or so), or $7.49 (R65) for a four-pack. There’s also the whole Sanctum Collection, including the game, soundtrack, and two map packs, for $4.74 (R40).

Focus Home Interactive’s entire catalogue is up to 75% off, including:

  • A Game of Thrones: Genesis – $9.99
  • Blood Bowl Legendary Edition – $9.99
  • Cities XL 2012 – $9.99
  • Cities XL 2011 – $6.24
  • Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga – $9.99
  • Game of Thrones – $17.49
  • R.A.W. Realms of Ancient War – $11.24
  • Wargame: European Escalation – $9.99
